30 Lessons in Life’s Soccer Game
For the past 25 years, Chrissy Holm has sprinted their heart out on the field, bounced from position to position, and tried to get a grasp on life's soccer game.
From bruises, muddy uniforms, and bloody noses to life lessons, best advice, and mistakes, Chrissy shows you the perseverance it took to become a full-time writer in this short memoir and self-help ebook, inspiring you to reach your goals.
What Inspired 30 Lessons in Life’s Soccer Game
At the time I wrote this in 2021, I was deep in a season of personal growth—drawn to the kind of wellness and mindset work that people like Jay Shetty, Brené Brown, and Tony Robbins put into the world. I wanted to contribute something too. To write, to create, and to help others.
The push came from a program called Social Educators, created by Glo Atanmo of The Blog Abroad — a community built around using social media to educate, uplift, and build something meaningful. Part of that journey was a challenge to get out of your own way: a limited amount of time, a blank page, and no room for overthinking. So I wrote.
Soccer felt like the natural thread to pull. I've played my whole life, and 30 has always been my number—it's also my birth date. When the chance came to write something, connecting the lessons I've learned on the field to the bigger game of life just clicked. The field has a way of teaching you things that are hard to learn anywhere else—about perseverance, failure, showing up, and trying again. This ebook is for anyone who needs a little reminder to keep going.
